dragon breath! Yet if you bypass this controllable detail, and you get to know and appreciate the benefits of an onion, you will unleash the power of a superfood as old as time!

-Biblical connection:

"We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick": (Numbers 11:4-5)

Being a lover of appetite promotes intemperance, decreased self-control, and poor eating habits. Egypt was the breathing ground for promoting all of the above. God's people got used to poor food combinations. Meat eating (fish), combined with vegetables.

You may ask what is wrong with that combination? Science has confirmed that a diet that is high in animal protein is hazardous to our health. Secondly, good science has also confirmed that removing meat from the diet, ALONG with other good lifestyle habits like exercise, de-stress therapy; going to bed at least 2 hours before midnight, water hydration, Godly trust, etc., helps to prevent and retard many lifestyle diseases and also greatly cripple cancer growth. The China Study

The Bible supports a plant-based diet as the optimal choice (Genesis 1:29-31) When eating for God's glory is not the first place in our dietary habits (1 Corinthians 10:31), disease is promised, decay follows, and premature death is highly inevitable for the most part. This is not a scare tactic, but statistically realistic. Eat a plant-based diet.

God wants to preserve us blameless in our physical health as well as our spiritual well-being (3 John 2). Therefore, He welcomes us to reason with Him. He wants us to sit at His feet and become humble learners.

- God's Promises

God promises that if we follow His health counsels, He will bless us with excellent health. What did He counsel?

"If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee" -Exodus 15:26

Except for the Jobs in our midst, we attract, court, and marry most of our illnesses. We know the health habits we pursue are unhealthy, but we sometimes have the attitude of a non-believer... "I am gonna die of something anyway so let me eat or do what I want to do anyway!"

Friends let's cut out this ungodly attitude, God wants us to be healthy :

  • because He made a valuable product that's worth preserving

  • to enable better communication between our frontal lobe and Heaven

  • so that we may live longer and therefore have more grace for Godly character transformation.

  • to encourage longer service for Him and others;

  • spend more time with our loved ones

  • so that we may be examples to others who are slaves to appetite in various forms
