7 Superpowers Every Family Needs!

Updated: Feb 4, 2023

The world is filled with superheroes that Satan manufactured to deceive our boys and girls into believing that they are the ones who save us from "evil" or "the bad guys". Bat Man, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, Spiderman, and Aqua Man are only a few. Satan has allowed parents to let their guards down and introduce to their families big Santa Clauses to replace Jesus, the world's true superhero. But in the beginning, it was not so.

In the genesis of this world, God introduced all the superpowers that we may use at our fingertips to empower us to fight against Satan, and every challenge we will ever meet. The first three chapters of the Bible are loaded with them:

  1. God- the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit working for the good of mankind: "Let us make man in our own image...our character: with this superpower, "no weapons formed against us shall prosper!" Humanity always has access to them in warfare against all evil.

  2. Nature- Through the power of association, we may look to nature to teach us object lessons about life and also about the character traits of God that will help us to stand in awe of Him. From the dirt to the trees; from things in the skies to those in the sea, God uses them all to help us understand who He is. Through the power of association, we may use all the natural elements or resources that surround us to educate ourselves and others in the ways of righteousness. Psalms 19:1 tells us that the heavens broadcast God's glory. There are galaxies after galaxies and still, God's glory is more expansive! Nature is not God... the Christian does not believe in pantheism as many eastern religions, and "New Age" advocates teach. Yet God uses objects in nature to point the way to Jesus and to strengthen our mental health.

  3. "The" Healthy Diet- What a fantastic powerhouse God provided when he made all the fruits, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and herbs of all kinds. He gave them first for our nourishment and protection and then for medicines. He said if we follow nature's prescription, no disease will touch us. Psalms 91: and Exodus 15:26. With it Daniel, Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael were able to have clear, alert minds that would allow them to discern truth from error and give them vital force to better resist, stand and overcome the wiles of the devil.

  4. The Word- God's Word is powerful! David, in Psalms 33:6-9 sings that by the word of the Lord were the heavens made and all the host of heaven were created by the breath of His mouth! What dynamic omnipotence is in those words: "Let there be light!" I just love when without a pause there came back the response, " And there was light!" Genesis 1:3. Our words only have power when echoed through God's Word... spoken or unspoken, written down on paper or in the flesh of the heart. It is an energetic reservoir building a strong faith in impossible times.
